UGC has published its notification regarding the pass percentage criteria on their website ugc.ac.in. UGC has decided that 6% of students who will appear for NET exam will be getting qualified.
UGC has decided that overall 6% students will be declared qualified instead of previous pattern. In previous pattern of result, it is compulsory that students will have to get minimum 40% marks in Paper I & Paper II and minimum 50% marks in Paper III. Out of those candidates who qualify this criterion only top 15% declared NET qualified. Due to this restriction pass percentage of overall students came down.
So now UGC has decided that 6% of the students will be declared qualified in NET exam from overall candidates appeared.
Example of previous methodology (15% criteria)
Suppose 1000 students appeared for NET exam and out of 1000 only 300 students qualified the criteria of (40%+40%+50%), so out of these 300 students only 15% declared pass i.e. 45 student qualified NET exam and other declared fail. So, out of 1000 students only 45 candidates declared pass which comes to only 4.5% pass percentage.
Example of new methodology (6% criteria)
Suppose 1000 students will be going to appear for Nov 17 exams than 60 students for sure will be declared NET qualified.
This will be beneficial for the students who are preparing for NET exam.
So, be happy and prepare for Nov 2017 exam with all dedications.
